The Problem-Emergency Responders

Global Vision of Chemical Safety

What part of it will you build?

The Problem

How many injuries might be prevented and how much more efficient would the response be if Emergency Responders had immediate, visual, consolidated access to Chemical Hazard information about the drums of chemicals left behind after a natural disaster or other massive accident? (there’s a Hurricane Katrina story here that I would love to share with you)

Chemical cleanup after Hurricane Katrina

How many lives might be saved if chemical containers were sufficiently self-aware to warn of incompatible chemicals stored in excessive amounts located too close to them? (2015 Tianjin explosion, watch videos taken live) How many deaths and injuries could be prevented?

How might we use technology to help solve these problems?

More later, here’s to better Visual Chemical Safety and a Connected Chemical Supply Chain
