Did you know that back in the Palm Pilot days Symbol had a slide in barcode scanner that worked with the Palm unit? Fastest scanner we ever used. When the Palm Pilots went away, we migrated the Barcode Chemical Inventory process to use other scanners.

The ap took a feed from a real-time receiving application (built in Microsoft Access) that printed the unique ID barcode label for each container (10 cans of paint, 10 different ID numbers), used that to load the scanners, from which inventory verification activities were conducted.
